Stress release

I've re-discovered my love of crochet. It is so soothing to sit down and unwind with a ball of yarn and a crochet hook. I've recently tried some more difficult patterns, but I've decided that I don't like to count. I like pretty stitches that are basically mindless. This one I'm using for an afghan is called the "Bushy Stitch". Here are the instructions:

Determine how big you want your finished product to be. Then make a chain that length using a multiple of 3 + 1. (For example, for my afghan I am using a size J hook and I chained 151).

ROW 1 (Right side): (DC, ch 2, sc) in fourth ch from hook, *skip next 2 chs, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch; repeat from * across.
ROW 2: Ch 2, turn; (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in first ch-2 sp and in each ch-2 sp across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece is your desired length. Tie off and enjoy! (or work an edging pattern).

ooo, I only know a single stitch and i have a blanket that took forever to make too! Maybe we should do that for one of our crafty lessons.

Wow! Your are talented! That is one thing I cannot do! Grandma P tried showing me once, but I just couldn't do it! I wish now I had tried harder and payed closer attention! We need to do some pattern swapping!

I am eager to try this pattern. Thanks for sharing another way to turn resting time into productive time. I'll be calling you if I have questions.

Woops. That comment from Abbi is really from me. I didn't know the computer was signed in on Abbi's account. Abbi's not eager to try that pattern, I am!
