Today was a big day in the G* family. First, all four of my girls sang in sacrament meeting. I was so proud of them! They sang "Teach me to Walk in the Light" with David, our bishop & executive secretary, and their daughters. For some of my girls this was a BIG deal. McKenna used to be terribly shy in front of groups, but today she didn't even seem nervous. I think watching Lydia have good experiences singing in public has helped her confidence. Emily & Summer also surprised me with how they sang out and seemed to remember most of the words. For David it was a dream come true. Ever since they were little he has had dreams of them all singing together. Hopefully this will be the start of even greater things to come.
Also, during church Summer surprised me by asking me to take her to the potty. (She has been VERY unwilling to be potty trained). I took her to the bathroom and she peed in the potty! It was a very happy day.
(On an entirely different subject, I think I need lessons on how to photograph children. My big problem is getting them to cooperate!! I get about one shot and then they are DONE. If any of you have any hints, please share!)

I must admit trying to get a picture of all of my children looking at the camera is almost imposible! I always tell my kids to say Thursday instead of cheese...it gives them better smiles and get their attention! This is why I have a lot of single pictures of my kids. It is easier to just work one on one!
I think the picture is adorable.
I love candid shots like that!! They look more natural. I bet you were so proud of your family. I would have had goosebumps!!! Now come to the family reunion and do that for your talent!!! hahaha no excuses now.
I wish I could have been there to hear them! Maybe you can call us and sing over the phone. Congratulations to McKenna, Lydia, Emily and Summer for sharing their talents!! Way to go!
You do great pictures!!! I bet it was a proud day to see your girls and husband sing for all. THat's NEAT!!!
Awesome! I wish I could have heard them! I've always been scared to sing in public.
How wonderful! I would have loved to see that. And yay for Summer! Hopefully being a big Sunbeam will motivate her to be potty trained. :)
What beautiful girls you have!! What a perfect day you had as well! I am glad you had such a nice time. I would have loved to hear them! Maybe you should record them doing it at home and put it on your blog! I bet your heart swelled!!! HOORAY FOR SUMMER! Hopefully she will keep it up! :) Love ya!
Great job! I like Shana's idea... Record them let all of us hear them :)
