Art Idea: Circle collage

One of my goals this summer is to provide fun, engaging, productive activities for my kids. Our first activitiy was putting together these collages using pictures from magazines. I first gave them a 15 second lesson in texture and then instructed them to go through the magazines to find pictures with interesting  textures. They enjoyed looking closely at the images in the magazines and did a good job identifying the different textures.

I think the finished projects are really cool. Here is one example.

If anyone has any other easy art projects that don't require many supplies let me know! I have a few more ideas waiting in the wings, but with my kids home all day every day I'm going to need a few more ideas!!!

I want to come do art projects with you! I love those circles! We'll have to do that project again next time we're together.

We did one. You take tissue paper(5-10) pieces. You can cut the paper into fourth too. You just need a square. Then fold it up like a fan. (you know the kind we all made in sacrament meeting with the program). Secure the middle of the folded tissue paper with floral wire or sturdy thread. Keep the fan folded and cut a design at the ends. (ie, scalapes, points,) Gently pull the paper apart and toward the middle. It makes fun tissue balls to hang in your room. I think I saw it on martha stewart, but can't find the link right now. Good luck and have fun.

Cute Idea. I have been teaching my activity day girls how to make boxes that you fold. You use paper that is a little heavier than reg. but not as heavy as card stock. Some wrapping paper's work really well and calendar's and some magazine papers. It is so fun and you can make them any size. I'll come to Georgia and show you how if you haven't seen it before. It's kinda hard to explain
