I have a friend that LIKES to clean. When I asked her about it she explained that there is total satisfaction in getting a room just the way she likes it and then backing out and enjoying how everything is in order. When I thought about cleaning with that perspective I started to see how I could enjoy it. It becomes more of a creative process instead of pure drugery. And what is more gratifying than taking something that is unorganized and with a little work creating something that is neat, clean, and beautiful!

That is so true! It's great to have things organized so that they look nice but also so you know exactly where stuff is! There IS some creativity involved. I love it when my house is clean and organized! If I could just keep it that way....
I love that perspective. I also love the art of Anne Taintor. She always makes me laugh.
I love a clean room as much as the next gal, and I don't mind the getting there. Especially the kitchen. It is slightly therapeutic. The problem is that the room doesn't stay that way long enough... Not with 4 kids running around depositing stuff here and there! :-D
That's how I get myself to clean - to be motivated to remove the dirt and enjoy the cleanliness! But I know the feeling of frustration having others undo the cleaning in a matter of minutes. After I clean I always announce, "I have just finished cleaning the bathroom (or kitchen or whatever room) and you may never ever set foot in it again!"
I totally agree with her perspective...my only dilemma is it doesn't stay clean for more than 5 minutes!!! Then I just get frustrated again!!
Hello! How surprised I was to come across your blog the other day through other people's links! I can't believe you have five girls-they are just beautiful! Has it really been that long since I tended you and your siblings? I hope you don't mind if I follow your blog!
