Before this evening it had been about two and a half weeks since I'd gotten outside to exercise and I had no idea how much I missed it!!! I've done a few things inside to exercise, but I realized today the awesome benefits of being OUTSIDE.
First, the feeling of fresh air filling my lungs felt so good. I had no idea what stale air I had been breathing!
Second, there were no walls boxing me in. I tend to get a little claustrophobic and I hadn't realized the anxiety that two weeks indoors was causing me.
Third, it was peaceful and happy. I could hear a few birds chirping and I saw a cat pouncing around in the woods. There were a few neighbor kids shooting hoops in their front yards, and I was able to wave at my neighbors as they drove home.
So, the next time I'm feeling bad I just need to Get Out!

This makes me want to take my running outside tomorrow. I have been feeling a little closed in too!
I'm so glad you felt refreshed! I'm thinking about you every day and hope you feel better!
oh i hear ya! i've been sick for over a month & this is the first week i've been able to get out & move. it felt so good to feel the wind on my face!
I totally agree! Fresh air and contact with my neighbors is so good for my soul!!
I want out now. We have been snowed in most of the week. Now the cold sets in. I have started just looking at pictures of green grass and spring flowers to keep me sane.
Mmmmmm, I agree! It sounds heavenly!
So true. I am such a home body and need to remind myself to GET OUT also! When I do, it feels good.
Two things that will fix almost anything.. Long hot bath, Long fast walk. I can't do without either.
Agree 110%! It feels so good to get out and breath some fresh air!!! I can't wait until Spring when it is easier to do so! :) I Hope you get feeling better soon and next time you are feeling down-- GET OUT! :)
