Spontaneous holiday

Yesterday at about 4:00 it started to SNOW. My girls immediately put on their hats, gloves, and scarves and went outside to "play" in it.

It wasn't long before their friends joined them.

By morning the few fluttery flakes had covered most of the ground and school was CANCELLED!

The kids got all bundled up and were determined to build a snowman (with the 1/16 inch that had accumulated). :)

David was the leader of the pack.

And with his help they were able to build the most darling snowman!! (Before they all came in crying with cold toes and fingers).

Snow days are the best!! That is the cutest snowman I have ever seen! Good job using every ounce of snow you had!

I didn't even know a snowman could be made with such a small amount of snow.

I am very impressed with the snowman. Our "snowman" was about 10 inches tall. That must have taken every bit of snow in your yard.

Wow, my kids dream of school being cancelled because of snow. Last Sunday and Monday it snowed 11 inches and they put in a full day.
Your pictures are darling. Thanks for sharing!

How fun! I bet that doesn't happen often there. I was wondering why they didn't cancel school earlier this week when it was really icy (not fun with lots of hills!)

School cancelled? NO WAY!!! They'd never think of doing that here. We got 10" the other day in one storm. That's such an adorable snowman!!!

That is a cute snowman (o: I said this on Audra's post, too, but it's so fun to live where you have a chance of it snowing every once in a while!

You can still see grass. How could school be canceled. I am with Kjirsten. We have lived in the snowy mountains of Utah for 6 years now and never has school been canceled. It looked like a ton of fun though.

I didn't know it ever snowed there. Was it a fluke or does it do that every once in awhile? We drove 2 hours to get to the snow yesterday!
