I never buy sugar cereals. The closest we come to sugar cereal is frosted shredded wheat or when we put brown sugar in our oatmeal. I also never buy name brands (unless I have coupons). Well, last night David, Jonathan, and his girlfriend Katie took the girls and went to the store for me. David put Jonathan and Katie in charge of picking out the cereal... and with Lydia's help they selected everything chocolate or frosted. (To McKenna's credit she didn't approve of their selections-- or my potential reaction to them-- and lectured Lydia on the need for some "healthy kinds.") Now it's 10am and the PB & Chocolate Pops are almost gone, they're starting in on the Frosted Krispies, and I'm thinking I should do the shopping from now on.

That is hilarious! Amelia eats Lucky Charms every morning, so I can't comment further.... :)
Oh man! I didn't even know they made those kinds of cereal! Alex isn't allowed to eat sugar cereal either. She gets WAAAAYY too hyper! She's really sensitive to sugar! She can eat apple jacks though.
A little authority in the wrong hands can end in disaster!! Way to go McKenna - you taught her well! I think your last statement is wise!
Oh boy. We buy them occasionally (once every 6 months or so) and they go quickly. I can't imagine having that much sugar for breakfast every day!
WOW! Those are real sugary. But every once in a while a kids gotta have a little... ;) We RARELY even eat cereal, let alone all of those sugar kinds. But my kids do like Fruit Loops. :)
I love it! That is too funny. Obviously you are teaching your kids well for McKenna to speak up like she did. :)
But just think how much they LOVE it! And you don't even have to feel guilty about the one buying it for them! It wasn't you! And then you can go back to the healthy cereals tomorrow.:)
I only buy one every few months.. and then I let them eat it up (but usually only for snacks) as fast as they want and then it's gone. So it only lasts a couple of days. I don't know if this is a good thing???
I remember before Morris got healthy I would just roll my eyes when he would go shopping. He'd spend way too much $ and come home with stuff I would never buy. Now,He only buys way healthy things and I'd love some junkfood once in a while but I love the way he shops now. It only took 30+ yrs.
I used to rarely if ever eat sugar cereal, but now that I'm living with Chad I buy it for him, and then I end up eating it as snacks or desserts. But I still always prefer healthy cereal for breakfast. I love good hearty breakfasts!
