Shout out for SWK

Ever since I was a young teenager I've loved reading conference reports and other church talks. I appreciate good writing, especially when it contains a message that really hits home or wisdom that is insightful. That said, I am LOVING the Spencer W. Kimball manuel we are using in Relief Society now. I vaguely remember when he was the prophet, but I was too young to really appreciate him them. Now, reading his words I feel like I've discovered a gold mine. Every time I read one of the lessons I feel inspired to be a better person. His words are so motivating!!

So far my favorite lessons have been Selfless Service, Integrity, and the lesson we had today, Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me, but every lesson is amazing. Lately whenever I feel a little blah or need a pick-me-up I go find my SWK manuel (and my scriptures). Reading their words always makes me feel better.

Oh gosh, ME TOO!! Seriously, I LOVE reading this manual. I was starting to read cover to cover, but since we moved I haven't read much lately. I love the one on Prayer too, that is an awesome one.
I LOVE SWK TOO!! :)
And tell Ms Summer I just love her!! And I want to come to see her and all of her sisters and mama & daddy too!!

That is exactly how I feel! His writings are powerful, they go straight to the heart of the issue. Pres. Kimball understands so clearly spiritual principles and how to apply them. We studied the chapter on obedience today. I am looking forward to studying the next lesson, "Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me." I'll let you know what I think.

I don't even think I have one yet. I am in Primary and so out of it as to what the rest of the ward is doing. I remember passing them out to all the teachers, But forgot to get my own. Chris is in YM and apparantly he never got one either. I am getting one this sunday and catching myself up. Thanks for the post.

RS is the one thing I miss while serving in Primary. Pres. Kimble was my first prophet, and will always be one of my favorites!

Thank you for visiting my blog! Our pioneer outfits were just dresses we happened to have on hand. I have quite a few aprons collected, so they came in handy, too. Have fun doing your own pioneer days!
