In looking over my previous posts I realized there are very few references to David's side of the family, which is odd considering we are in the same ward with his parents, one of his brothers, and three of his sisters. So, let this be your official introduction.
It's a G* family tradition that the family gets together for Sunday dinners. Before they left Maureen would prepare the meals (which is a notable feat considering there are over 40 members of the family!), but since they've been gone we've decided to get together twice a month for family dinners and to take turns hosting it. Rebecca (the one in the coral shirt) was in charge of dinner last night. Marla (David's brother Brian's girlfriend), Amanda (Rebecca's daughter), and Leslie (David's sister) all helped prepare the shish-kabobs. YUM!
The favorite thing about going to "Mema's" is playing with the cousins. There are 33 grandkids so there is always someone to play with. Yesterday a game of pick-up softball kept the kids busy while we prepared dinner. When Jerry retired they bought 19 acres of land with the promise of an acre for any child that wanted to build there. So far two of his sisters (Rebecca & Deanna) have moved to "the land" (or the "G* compound as it's known in the ward). (sorry the picture is so dark. I didn't think to take it until we were leaving.)
Tom, Rebecca's husband, was the grill man for the night.
Don is often found in this position on Sundays.
Some of the family gathered around looking at pictures Leslie & Jason (wearing the visor) took of their trip to Guam. They will be moving to Guam for a couple years this fall.
Steve & Deanna.
David also has two older brothers who you might call the "lost sheep" of the family and a brother that died of SIDS. So, in order the family is: Vic, Greg, Kevin (the baby that died), Deanna, Rebecca, Brian, Leslie, David, Laura.

Having family close is so nice! What a blessing that your in laws have bought and offered the land to their kids. I guess two of the sisters have moved out there and built houses?
Nice to meet them!! I bet you love having them so close! That ought to be nice!!! :)
The Goulding Clan has always been so nice to us when we have visited. We send our thanks to them and to you for the pictures!
What a great family and what great pictures! Great idea to share this wonderful part of your life with us!
That was fun to get that all straightened out. I saw R and T at the outlet mall Saturday. I can't wait to be invited to the compound to swim (hint, hint) :)
It sounds like you have a good time living so close to so much family! I bet the kids love it living by all their cousins. Dylan is always asking if we can move closer to his cousins!
