Lazy Days of Summer

I believe in the ideology of summer. I believe it is important to have a period of fun, rest, and rejuvination. I love being able to wake up in the morning without a minute-by-minute agenda, where going to the pool, cooking dinner, and spending time with my kids is the order of the day. I found this poem and felt like it interpreted well why I value the "lazy days" so much.

Sundown Memories

The languid, lazy summer sun
Brings a reverie of relaxation.
The beach days of yellow glint and ocean spray,
Tickling our toes and our imaginations.

I think of small daughters and days gone by:
Ice cream cones and wet bathing suits,
Blazing campfires and golden marshmallows,
Squirt gun laughter and library lounging.

I remember sharing daylight and fun
With four small giggling girls.
They are much older now,
But my sundown memories keep them forever tiny.
