Tallulah Gorge

Yesterday we took a trip into north Georgia and met Adam & Jessie, Abbi & Chad, and Mike & Audra and their family for some hiking around Tallulah Gorge.

We hiked the north rim trail and then went down onto the Hurricane Loop trail. The views were spectacular!!

But the best part of the day was getting to spend time with the family. This was the first of hopefully many P* family get-togethers. (Adam just started his MBA at the University of Tennessee, so now he and Jessie are within visiting distance!!!)

Mom & Dad-- We MISSED you!!!

The hike was not for the faint of heart and the kids were amazing. We climbed down heaven knows how many stairs to the bottom of the gorge. And them climbed back UP. We all arrived back at the top a little out of breath. But I don't think I heard any whining!

This picture below is a view from the bottom of the gorge. The kids were a little disappointed that they could not climb down into the water and swim. Only hikers with permits are allowed down into the bottom of the gorge and we got there too late to get a permit. Someday we will have to go back and hike the Gorge Floor trail.

Chloe was a trooper in her little hiking pack. And David was amazing carrying her up and down the stairs. (Did I mention there were A LOT of stairs?)

We hope you all had a great Labor Day, too!

That is so crazy that all you P's are in the SE now! Fun for you all. Except your poor mom and dad all the way across the country!

Those falls are beautiful!

These pictures are the next best thing to being there with you! What a fun way to spend labor day. We were thinking of you the whole time and wishing we could be there too.
