Cuttin' the grass

My Grandpa P* was a fruit farmer and I have fond childhood memories of seeing him riding through the orchard on his tractor. He loved being out there. I don't have a tractor or an orchard, but I do have a pretty big back yard. And every time I mow it I think of my Grandpa.

There is something soothing and peaceful about riding the lawn mower. The hum of the engine drowns out other distractions; the clean lines of cut grass appear; I get to be alone for a while. And it's absolutely beautiful.

(Elaine: I would love to have a copy of the picture of Grandpa on his tractor. Do you know who I could get that from?)

Ahhhhhh! Such a sense of satisfaction to see the fruits of your labor - a beautiful green lawn ready to run on. You make a right fine riding-lawn-mower!

Oh, how fun! I LOVE mowing the lawn too. But I am sure I would love it even more if I could have a riding lawn mower. :) How peaceful, for sure. Hey-- and you look good out there riding! :)
