"All that"

Occasionally my girls accuse each other of being "all that." I usually try to defend the person being accused by explaining that they ARE all that, and that it's not bad to think you are cool. I want so badly for my girls to grow up with a positive self image. They are beautiful, talented girls and I would love for them to embrace all the wonderful things about themselves. Not that they are better than anyone else, but that independent of anyone or anything they are AWESOME. And the older my girls get the more I realize that I need to model the behavior I want them to develop. And that's hard. Sometimes I get bogged down with discouragement and self-criticism, especially about the way I look. But after reading this post I'm recommiting myself to loving who I am. And in the NieNie spirit I went and did a little photo shoot with myself. And I have to admit that I'm totally "all that." :) And that getting the right lighting makes a BIG difference in how you look in photos!!

Feels good to be honest with yourself doesn't it. You, my dear, are gorgeous. And I too loved that post by cjane. I liked how she said that beauty is fleeting so why not enjoy it while we have it?!

Look at you being such a good example of a healthy self image! It's hard, isn't it? I used to read NieNie's blog and wonder what it would be like to feel that comfortable with myself to take all those pictures. Now I'm so glad she did!
