This is Summer's favorite dress pattern. I made a couple dresses with it last year and decided that since she liked it so much I would make her another one. It's a great pattern for beginning sewers and a total success with our girls. (And to top it off, I used this headband pattern from Heather Bailey). My girls have definite opinions about what clothes they like and what ones they do not like, so it is always so fun to be able to dress them up in something that makes us BOTH happy.

That is a cute dress! Cailey loves dresses too! I would love to have a sewing class for enrichment activity and learn how to sew something from a pattern. It could maybe be broken up into several classes from start to finish.
What a cute dress! You did a great job on it. I'll have to look for a pattern like that one. I think my little princess would like it too :)
so cute! i love it.
This is so cute...especially her little pose!
Cute, which pattern number and brand is it?
I put a link on "this" pattern to show what pattern number it is.
I think it's so neat that you can sew for your girls. Did you learn as a young girl or did you learn when you were older?
It is so perfect for Summer! You can tell she loves it!
very cute dress! You're quite the sewer. I sewed some dresses for the girls about 6 years ago...they turned out cute, but I don't want to sew them again!!! LOL.
I love it! So easy and cute! I am totally going to make a couple! She is such a cute little model too!
i have that same pattern - LOVE how yours turned out!
What a supermodel! What a fun dress! Love the picture!!
Cute dress. I wish I could sew better. Maybe I could try it out. My cousin's name is Heather Bailey and I was wondering how you got a headband pattern from her, until I googled Heather Bailey.
That is a darling dress! What pattern is it from?
Jess, thank so much for the inspiration. I've been doing so many manly tasks around the house now that I'm nearly a single parent that I've sort of forgotten what I used to love. So after a day of greasy fingers, fixing the lawn-mower, I pulled out the sewing machine when my pattern arrived in the mail. I know lazy, but with all we have going on, I knew I'd never sew if I had to find a fabric store too. So I ordered your pattern online, it shipped to the house, I dug through my old quilt scraps and found enough fabric to make Sydney the same dress for her birthday. The bodice turned out to be a little loose, but it doesn't look like Summer's fit snug either. Hopefully Sydney will love it as much, I can't imagine how she coudln't. I've never seen so much ruffles! Anyway, thank you very much for the wonderful idea. My mom sewed all my clothes so I sort of hate the idea of sewing for my kids. But ruffly dresses might have to be the exception! Send more great pattern ideas my way. I always seem to pick out the stinkers that ruin the clothing sewing desire in me!
