Life insurance isn't pretty

One of my January resolutions was to go through our finances and create a budget so we could determine how much per month we could put into savings. David has also suggested that we do some more estate planning, like updating our life insurance policies, creating a trust, and getting a will. We also need to start saving for the girls' college expenses and planning for the future. I agree, but the problem is none of those things are pretty and I really prefer to spend money on pretty things. For example, I HATE buying tires. I know tires are important and that good tires are crucial to our safety, but they are ugly and I don't like spending money on them. I would rather buy furniture or clothes or flowers or fabric. But, I am a responsible adult and will do what responsible adults should do.... but I DON'T WANNA!!!

I hate buying tires too! I make John do it now. Haha. We just updated our life insurance, I'm glad it's over with!

Ditto.
On the upside, five years ago when we still had to cut coupons to get groceries our financial planner made us put an obscene amount of cash away, on top of other investments becuase one of our goals was to buy a new minivan for child number 3 with cash. We have met our goal and this April we will be able to do that without even touching our other savings accounts. Good planning comes around with generous blessings.

I'm with ya. We had to spend money on a plumber and I hated it! Good for you, though, being a responsible adult.

There are so many expenses in life that I'd rather not deal with, and that is definitely one of them!
