Thursday night is our next quarterly enrichment meeting. I have been working with the enrichment committee since August to plan this night and I really hope it turns out well. Our focus for the evening is "Preparing for a Christ-centered holiday season" and our theme is the scripture "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Since many of us feel somewhat "heavy laden" during the holidays we wanted the ladies in our ward to have a chance to pause and really focus on Christ.
As a gift we put together a 14 day Walk with Christ for the sisters to take home. I went through the scriptures and pulled out scriptures where I felt Christ speaking directly to me and then organized them by topic. Then I put them all together in a little book. The idea is that for the next 14 days we get to spend some personal time listening to Christ's voice through the scriptures and really preparing for the holiday season.
I am really pleased with how it turned out and thought I would share it with all of you. If you start Day 1 by Saturday you'll finish the 14 days by December 1 and the onset of the holiday rush.
