Drink your Water!

For the past week or so I have felt totally drained of energy and motivation. Even the simplest tasks have felt like huge obstacles to overcome. I kept wondering if I was sick, but I didn't have any symptoms beyond a general lack of energy. Yesterday I think I figured it out. I've been running more than usual lately in order to get to 100 miles by Christmas and not drinking enough water. I've just been a little dehydrated! I should have figured that out earlier, but I guess in my brain wasn't functioning at its full capacity either. Living things need water to survive!! I recognized the importance of water the first summer I put potted plants on my porch. If I forgot to water them for a while they got all droopy and ugly, but as soon as I refreshed them with some water they thrived. So... go get a drink of water! Your body will thank you for it. (Mine sure is happier now that it is better hydrated!!!)

Wise advise! I am in the habit of drinking lots in the morning. It makes me feel good.

I'm so glad you discovered the solution to your lack of energy. We should all be drinking tons to help us get through the busy-ness of the holidays!

Thanks for the reminder! I'll go get a drink right now!

P.S. Speaking of water, are you guys in the area that is having the big drought?

I am such a believer of water drinking! I drink so much water every day. Some days, I'll be feeling head-achey or tired and realized that I didn't drink enough water that day. I noticed this in high school, and one of my friends teased me that I thought drinking water was the solution to everything--he said that when I was a mom and my kids would get hurt or break a leg or something, I'd say, "Go drink some water, and you'll feel better." Haha. I don't think I go that far, but still, I do think drinking water is so important!!

Thanks for the reminder! Whenever I get headaches, I always realize that I haven't had enough water.

Headaches and tiredness for me are almost always because I didn't drink enough water. Hooray for such simple solutions!

Yah, water is great. But your tiredness can also be because of your really busy load lately! You have been going and going and going girl! Take a break and drink some water.

I'm trying to drink more too Jessi. I have these great big urine speciman measuring thingy and it holds 32oz. So when i'm at work I try and drink a couple of those. You are too young to feel tired and have no energy. It's when you're my age we have that right..hahah j/k I know having a house full of young kids can really do it to ya. Glad you're exercising though because it always helps clear your mind.

That's funny, had almost the same experience, only I didn't slow down long enough to figure it out and it went on for weeks. Showed up at my doctor with a very strange list of symptoms - my arms and legs were red and sensitive, my fingernails hurt and scratches didn't stop hurting on my legs or arms for a long time. I was exhausted and kept blacking out when I stood. I thought I had him stumped but a quick check at my fingers adn my blood was just slogging along with little hydration. So now I have cups lined up against the cabinent so I know how many I've emptied in a day. Sad that we mom's get so busy we actually forget to drink water!
