15 minute challenge

Lately I have NOT been into tidying up my house. It just makes me mad having to constantly pick up things that are not mine, and there are SO many other things I would rather spend my time on. But... I really like having the house tidy and as mentioned before, if things are going to get done the way I want them, I'm the one that has to get my hands dirty. So, my latest trick is to set the timer for 15 minutes and get as much done in that time as possible, and I am always amazed at how much I really can do in 15 minutes!! My house is not that big, so I can usually get all of the main living areas tidied in that time. It also gets me moving, and once I see progress it's a lot easier to keep going. And then, when I finally get to work on things that feel a little more productive I don't have piles of clutter weighing me down. It's the old life lesson: Do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do.

It gets so tiring, huh? I really do feel less stressed when my house is tidy. Stacks of dishes really get me stressed. There are times when I have to just ignore the dishes because I want my kids to do them when they get home from school. I can deal with it when the downstairs is a little messy, but I hate the upstairs to be a mess.

I hate clutter! I try and keep it under control at my house too, but I definiteley would rather be doing other things.
