I know that we're not supposed to be proud, but yesterday I have to admit I was definitely "well pleased! After learning a brand new song the day before, Lydia sang a duet in sacrament meeting with her cousin (and "best friend in the world"), Alyssa. (For those who don't know Mormon jargon, that means she sang a song in front of our entire congregation of about 200 people!) On Saturday night when she came home with the song and told me she was going to sing it the next day I was a little stunned. It was a hard song for ME to catch on to, and I can kind of read music. But she and Alyssa practiced and sounded so sweet together. When she woke up on Sunday morning the butterflies were starting to land in her stomach, and when we got to church and she realized how many people were there she started to get really scared. Lydia cried through the first half of the meeting and was visibly shaking, but I could tell she still really wanted to sing. I was nervous for her!!! But she decided that she was going to do it and did a beautiful job!!!! She overcame her fears and did something that was REALLY hard. I was so proud of her!!

Yeah Lydia. That is hard. I'd do just about anything than sing in public!
She's a lot braver than I would be. I need to take a lesson from her. I bet you were so proud.
Go Lydia. That's a great accomplishment!
Wow, way to go Lydia!!! That's awesome.
That is a big accomplishment for Lydia! She has had a hard time performing in front of me before. I can imagaine how she felt in front of the whole ward! That is so great that she went through with it. What courage!
When I am nervous to do something, I am going to remember Lydia's example! I want to be like Lydia!
What a great story! I'm proud of her too!
That's awesome Lydia! Good Job!!
