A while back Leslie asked what David does for a living, and I am finally getting around to answering her question. The short answer is that he is a General Contractor. His business started out specializing in mold pre-treatments for new construction and mold remediation but has expanded to include remodeling projects, consulting with builders about green-building programs, and log home sales and construction.
When we were newlyweds David worked as a sales manager for a company that made log furniture and fell in love with that style. He also had a passion for woodworking. As I look back I marvel at the way the Lord has guided our lives and prepared us for David to start this business. So, despite some tough financial challenges, we've felt extremely blessed.
This house is David's first log home and I think he did an amazing job on it. He is also working on a 7000 sq. foot log home near the Florida border and is getting ready to break ground for another home in the Appalacian Mountains.

That is fabulous! I would love to live a "house that Dave built"... If I could afford it!
Wow. It turned out absolutely beautiful! I wish it was mine! No, I don't need it to be mine. I can enjoy the beauty of it without it being mine (wink, Abbi). But, man, he should be proud!
Beautiful! What talent!
Awesome! Seriously, one day I am going to have a house like that.
Congratulations! The house looks wonderful! Can't wait to see pictures of the 7000 square-foot house!
