This weekend David and I had the ultimate treat in celebration of our 10 year anniversary.... a whole weekend just the two of us. It was wonderful!!!! We drove up to the mountains Friday night (after some shopping at the Outlet Mall and some new clothes for me!) and had a delicious dinner of salmon, asparagus, crescent rolls, and chocolate covered strawberries. The next day we put on our hiking boots and hiked 9 miles up and around Blood Mountain. I had never hiked more than a few miles before and wore the wrong kind of socks, but David rescued my blistered feet by giving me his socks (which meant he went 8 miles without socks). He was my hero!! It turned out to be a gorgeous day and the perfect hike. We were challenged but not beaten. After the hike we went back to the cabin for another delicious dinner and a soak in the tub. Sunday morning we walked to some waterfalls not far from our cabin, explored that area, and then hurried home to get our kids. Spending this time with David was the best gift and I am so thankful we were able to get away. We were able to reconnect as husband and wife and to truly fall in love again. Thanks Audra & Mike for helping make it possible!!!

How fun! The most romantic thing about that little recount was that he gave you his socks and went without! That really is true love. Congratulations on Ten years together, may you have many more!
Sounds like a fun weekend retreat.
Oh, I am so happy you had such a great weekend. It looks like it was just perfect!! And tell David all your blogger friends think he's a hunk for letting you wear his socks. :)
