Flirt marketing

The past few times I've taken my car in to get the oil changed I've noticed a pattern and I am wondering if it's the latest marketing tactic in the auto maintenance industry. Every place I've been to (like 3 different shops) have young, reasonably good-looking young men at the front desk who FLIRT with the women who come in. I've been called sweetheart and darling and told they "can't wait until I come in again." I'm a pretty old-fashioned girl, and I find it kind of ridiculous. (Afterall, what 20 year old is seriously going to flirt with someone with an entourage of four kids!) I insist that the kids in the neighborhood call me "Mrs. Jessi", and I appreciate it when people say "yes, mam." "Darling" and "sweetheart" don't quite command the same respect and deference. But, I imagine a lot of women like that kind of attention. Afterall, not everyone has a husband that makes them feel desirable, and if you can get that at the local Jiffy Lube they may have a lot of women coming back for more than just an oil change!

Well, you are one gorgeous mother. They may not be doing that to everyone!

Oh Jessi! You are pretty and still look 25- I guess they just assume you are their age and that you are just tending the children! ;) Come on- I Really think you are the only one! Seriously. Maybe next time you should take David in with you! hehe

I'm not the only one! The last time I got my tires rotated I watched several women walk in and get the same treatment.
