I got to spend this afternoon with some of my bests friends from high school (Connie & Dustin) who were in Georgia for a job interview. It was so much fun visiting with them and getting reacquainted as adults. We've seen each other only about a half dozen times since we graduated from high school (almost 12 years ago), yet every time we're together it feels like we just pick up from where we left off. After they left I got to thinking about what connects people and what makes a good friend. There are some people I look at and wonder "why aren't we friends?" We have common interests, family situations, and beliefs, but for some reason we just don't connect. And there are others with whom things just click. Anne of Green Gables called people "kindred spirits", and maybe that's simply what it is. I do know that it's easier for kindred spirits to stay connected if they are in the same state though, so I'm crossing my fingers things work out for Connie & Dustin to move to Georgia!

How fun! I would love to see high school friends and just catch up. I had such great friends, but hardly ever talk to them now and never see them.
I'm so glad you had a good time with Connie and Dustin! Keep us posted on whether they are moving there or not!
