Will the real blogger stand up

I just read a post I had to salute. Just like Mrs. Dub (and apparently a lot of her readers), I've been noticing little changes in my thoughts and actions that can only be attributed to the effects of reading other people's blogs. I'm not a fashionista. I go shopping maybe twice a year and buy whatever is on sale at the time. But lately I've been stressing about my girls' summer wardrobes and surfing designer websites. That's not me!!! I am realizing more and more that a life of peace and harmony requires being true to your values and living with intention. I think it is wonderful that I get to learn from my blogging buddies. I would have never asked to go to the High Museum of Art for Valentines Day had it not been for the influence of some notable blogs, but that was an intentional choice to expand myself in an area I truly wanted to learn about. I can appreciate that many of you have incredible talents in areas I do not, and I can recognize that what I get to see of your lives is just a little slice of what you experience every day. In a perfect world there would be no comparison. As the saying goes, "You can't compare apples and oranges." We're all our own piece of fruit, and we can celebrate the qualities that both unite and differentiate us!

You identified why I am such a fan of blogs. Even living in the same house, you cannot connect with and share ideas so often and deeply as you can through reading blogs. Even though we might live miles and miles away, we can share feelings, concerns and worries, joys, questions, and a hundred other different things through blogs. So write on, all you bloggers, write on!

No need to link to my blog. I think your post said it best. "To thine own self be true." Why haven't we figured that one out all these years later? Enjoy your you-ness! It sounds like you have a lot to offer, twice-yearly sales savvy included!

Jessi... I love your blog. I am that twice yearly sale girl too, (Actually, I'm the "if i happen to be walking through penneys and they're having a sale, twice a year I realize I should probably buy myself a new shirt or two!) as much as I do like clothes and the cute fashiony (not a word- i just realized!)stuff... I don't have the $ so I just dream (0: My mom was a clothing and textiles major in college and always made sure 'us girls' looked cute growing up... it's been hard to adjust to as an adult, but it's been good for me too. I'm right there with the rest of you... it's important to keep our thoughts about ourselves uplifiting and remember that we are all special for what we uniquely are!
