My Emily has definite opinions about her apparel. She will only wear dresses, and at night she will only wear nightgowns. For Christmas I bought her a darling Lands End nightgown. When I had her try it on she said, "I don't yike it." "WHY???" I asked. "It's not pretty," was her reply. UGH!!! So, back to the store it went. Thankfully, David got lucky and found a different nightgown that she loves. The problem is now she wears it for days at a time. I've looked everywhere for another nightgown, but haven't found much. So, I decided to take it upon myself to make her a nightgown. This is the result. And she "yikes" it!!! (To be accurate she said "I yike it, but I don't really yike it.") Deep sigh.

she sounds just like another little girl i know who lives in my house.
that nightgown turned out so well!
That is a darling night gown, and perfectly festive!
I am impressed! I want to learn to sew! I hope she grows to "really" yike it! :) She is such a doll and looks just like YOU when you were little! :)
The nightgown is adorable!!
I yike it too. Or as Mikayla says, "I wike it weely, weely much."
I totally remember how hard it was as a little girl - well, into teenage years, too - to visualize from a pattern and fabric, what the finished product would look like - and then when all my mom's hard work turned out a dress that didn't match what I had envisioned. Very cute nightie!
I love Emily's little way of talking and expressing herself. She is one in a million! You should feel very good about yourself--she doesn't just "yike" everything! Way to go, excellent seamstress! And remember what she said about my pants--"I think your pants are a yittle bit pretty." :)
