Number 1 Priority

I organize my life via lists. Each night I make a list of things to do for the next day, and then I rank the items by priority. It works really well because I can easily see what items are essential, and eventually all of the items on the list work themselves up to the top. This year I am going to make a change in my order or priority though. In the past I've never included "take care of the girls" on the list, so when their needs demand attention I feel like it is an interruption. So, this year I am going to give my girls the top slot. I will still care for them the same way I always have, but I am hoping that by including them on my list it'll change the way I perceive them. They are not an interruption. They are my number 1 priority.

Excellent idea! I predict that will make a difference in your frustration level as you go through your day. Let me know!

what a great idea! i hate it when i feel like taking care of my kids is getting in the way of other things. it should definitely be number one. thanks for the reminder.

Thank You for reminding me... I feel the same way! Kids should be number 1 and a lot of times when I am in the middle of cleaning something I tend to neglect the needs of my kids. What a great goal!!!

Jessi, this is brilliant! As usual, you have put a concept very beautifully into words. You should send this to a parenting magazine!
