A few days ago McKenna spent the day with our neighbor, Kelsie. After spending the entire day at our house Kelsie had to go home. The minute she left McKenna launched into the "I'm bored and don't have anyone to play with" tirade. I told her to go play with her sisters, to which she responded that she wanted to play with a FRIEND. I told her that her sisters were her BEST friends and that as she gets older she will learn to appreciate them. Sometimes I feel bad because I don't have many close friends, but I am thankful for my sisters. They are the best friends anyone could ask for.
I am also thankful for my brother. We just got to spend 6 weeks together after not living in the same state for 11 years. It was so fun. The last time we lived in the same house he was 12 years old, so it was cool to get to know him as an adult. He is a great guy and I am thankful for the time we got to hang out together.
And of course I can't forget to mention the friendship of my parents. It's so great to talk with people who truly know from whence you've come. I feel like I can go to them with my questions and commentary and that they will listen and give me the feedback I need. Thank heaven for wonderful parents (and unlimited long distance!!).
