I've never liked change. My Mom tells the story that when I was a really little girl (maybe 3 or 4) they bought a nice new car and all I could say was "I want the white car back." I thought that the positive experiences I had moving helped me overcome some of my aversion to change, but I'm afraid that I'm back to where I started. I can comprehend the need for change but I just don't like it. I don't like that my kids grow up. I don't like new construction. I don't like when relationships change. I feel a sense of loss, even when the changes are positive. Ultimately I know I'm going to have to get over this... but that would mean a change.
