In the meantime...

My kids are out of school and our neighborhood pool doesn't open until June 6! What is a mother to do?!

Turn on the hose and let them lose on the trampoline!

Definitely the next best thing.

Memorial Day memories

On Memorial Day we went on a hike to Desoto Falls.

We took lots of kids with us. (Their parents came, too.)

The scenery was beautiful!!!!

And the water was cold. But that didn't stop the kids from getting all WET.

By the end of the day everyone was wiped out. And happy.

Big Day

Yesterday was a big day for me. It was Mother's Day. I spoke in church. And I was called to be the new primary president. By the end of the day I was emotionally exhausted-- and overwhelmed with gratitude. I was treated like a true queen by David and the girls, my talk went well, and I realized again how much fun primary can be. I have awesome counselors, superb teachers, and the outgoing presidency has a very well-organized program that I just need to keep rolling. I feel so very, very blessed.

And for all of the primary workers out there, give me your best advice. (Sally & Michelle-- tell me all your best primary secrets!!! I know you have some.)

Race, Rest & Romance

This weekend David and I were able to get away for a couple nights to really celebrate our anniversary. We left Friday night and drove up to a cabin on Lake Hartwell. It was a gorgeous retreat.

On Saturday morning we got up early and put on our running shoes for a 10K race we'd signed up for. The only problem was we misjudged how far away the race would be from where we were staying and ended up being 15 minutes late. But, we ran it anyway and weren't even last!
After the race we went back to the cabin, showered, put our PJ's back on, and then made a super-yummy brunch together.

Then we crawled in bed and took a NAP. I can't tell you how good it felt.

I woke up before David did and was able to just lay in bed and look out at the window at the beautiful view. Total luxury!

For dinner David took charge of the menu and got ingredients to make Parmesan Crusted Tilapia with roasted vegetables and angel hair pasta. Gourmet!!

Now we're more in love than ever and ready to tackle the joys and challeges of LIFE together.
